I imagine that, as our due dates approach, we are each growing increasingly busy with attending baby showers, decorating the nursery, and reading every baby care book on the shelf. (Okay, that last one might be my own issue...)
Thought it might be fun to meet up -
Since I'm new to the Tar Heel State I won't even venture a guess as to where we could rendezvous. I have absolutely no understanding of distances between cities or towns - most days I'm happy that I don't miss the driveway leading home or that I can find the CVS without my GPS.

I am planning on going to my first La Leche League meeting at SmartMomma on Glenwood Ave and I would love to see a familiar face or two. I've had several friends have babies in the past month and have learned from their mistakes that breastfeeding is more of a challenge than they thought it would be and a support group and some education can go a looooong way. So, the next nightly meeting (since I'm still working, it's the only time I can go) is Thursday, May 10th at 6:30pm. Any takers?

Unfortunately, I am not able to attend the La Leche League meeting Leigh Anne suggested because I have rehearsal for a show that night, but it would be great to find another time to get together. I would need to know where everyone lives in order to suggest a meeting place. I live in Fuquay Varina, but that may be too far out of the way for many. I often find that Cary is an easy place to meet because it's about 30 minutes from Durham and 30 minutes from a lot of Raleigh.

Leigh Anne - Sounds like a plan. You make a great point about finding support -before- the baby arrives. I marked the date/time on my calendar, so I'll look for you when I arrive at Smart Momma...that is, of course, if Baby Weir hasn't arrived yet. (I live in fear that I'll start labor before May 23!)
ReplyDeleteToni - I'm happy to meet some place in Cary. As a Triangle Newbie, I have absolutely no idea where places are located - but I'm happy to learn and always enjoy exploring new spots. I'm in Raleigh (North Hills) and can easily get myself to Cary - I actually do know where that is :) Hope that school is going well for you and that you are feeling well...

ReplyDeleteToni, the night LLL meeting that I found was only monthly, but I did find one that meets during the day each week that I plan on attending when I'm on maternity leave. It's at SmartMomma each Tuesday at 11:30 - how wonderful if two or more of us could "get our support on" then head to lunch afterwards!
